ArcGIS 9.3 JavaScript API Demonstrations

ESRI has updated the demonstration page for ArcGIS Server on the esri.com. Two new demonstrations are now available that showcase the new JavaScript API that is coming in ArcGIS 9.3.

With the release of ArcGIS Server 9.3, you can mash up GIS-based Web services from ArcGIS Server with other Web content. Try the examples below to see how you can use the ArcGIS JavaScript API to integrate ArcGIS Server into your Web applications.

The first demonstration we saw of the JavaScript API’s was the Super Tuesday results which showed a map along with selections and charts of results. The two demonstrations that have been added to esri.com show:

  • Site Selection And Trade Area Analysis

This application uses the JavaScript API to combine spatial analysis capabilities from ArcGIS Server with base maps from ArcGIS Online to help analyze potential business locations.

  • Notification List Generator

This application uses the JavaScript API to combine spatial analysis capabilities from ArcGIS Server with local government data to create a mailing list of specific property owners.

Head over and check out these demonstrations. They provide a good showcase on how the JavaScript API can be used to carry out spatial analysis quick and easily. I am in the process of building a bundle of demonstrations for ArcGIS 9.3. These will be made available on our demonstrations web site when ready.

hello there! I am astonished by those spatial tools shown in the demonstrations. Is arcgis server 9.2 not capable of similar things? I thought it enables for geoprocessing, and I was hoping that it would also enable spatial analitical tools such as zonal stats or distance danalysis. May I kindly ask your advice?
